Toll sticker "vignette" compulsory:
The toll is required for all motorways and expressways in Austria. Since January 1, 1997 toll has to be paid for vehicles up to and including 3.5 tons maximum permissible gross weight. For vehicles over 3.5 tons maximum permissible gross weight the GO Toll Obligation (GO Box) has been in force since Jan. 1, 2004. As from the state border you need a toll sticker (vignette), available at border crossings, petrol stations and automobile clubs.
Also mandatory in Austria are safety vests for drivers and passengers leaving the car in the event of breakdowns or accidents.

You will find current information e.g. on road conditions on the website of the Austrian Automobile Club (ÖAMTC). For the winter months, please remember to take along the necessary winter equipment for your car (e.g. winter tires, snow chains).

The Kufsteinerland is located on the international railway line Munich-Innsbruck-Brenner-Verona. Kufstein is the Austrian and German border railway station, where all express and intercity trains stop.
